WHAT IS HARD WATER?
Hard water has a high mineral content and can cause damage to household appliances, soap scum buildup on glassware, and itchy, dry skin.
Water softeners remove minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, through the process of ion-exchange.
What are the BENEFITS OF SOFT WATER?
Soft water reduces gas or electric consumption by a hot water heater by as much as 25%
Increases the life of common household appliances such as coffee makers, irons, and humidifiers as well as the more expensive appliances like hot water heaters, dishwashers and washing machines.
Can reduce laundry soap use by 25-40% and leaves clothes and towels feeling softer and, white look whiter and colors look brighter.
Reduce dish washing soap usage by 30-40% while removing mineral spots from plates and silverware and chalky residue on your glasses.
Routine household cleaning is easier with soft water. It eliminates soap scum, rings around the tub, and water spots.
Shaving and bathing are easier with no minerals in your water, skin will feel cleaner, and hair is shinier, healthier and more manageable.

Watts Mid-Plate Filter & Softener Can Save You Money!
Our Watts Vortech Mid-Plate Dual Media Filter/Softener separates filter media from softening resin media for more contact time and premium high quality water.
As a result, your Watts Whole House Filter & Softener will run more cost effectively and allow saving toward filter service.
Watts Control valves
Found in our Watts Platinum, the precision brining feature uses only the precise amount of salt needed to regenerate the depleted portion of the softener resin, saving an additional 15-30% of salt per regeneration.
Our Platinum Systems also include:
Automatic system flush: this freshens the tank and plumbing system if you’re away from home for 7-14 days. This prevents bacteria growth and is a great way to preserve the life of the filter bed.
Emergency regeneration: if you have a spike in water usage, the system will automatically perform a quick 20-minute recharge to restore up to 20% system capacity, keeping you in soft water until a complete regeneration that night
What is Upflow Regeneration?
Traditional water softeners use “downflow”, which depletes the unused portion of the resin bed with every regeneration. Think of it as draining your gas tank before filling it up.
Watts Platinum Filter & Softener use “upflow” regeneration, which drives the hardness minerals up through the already depleted resin and out to drain, saving both salt and the unused portion of the resin for future use. In fact, that process supercharges the bottom portion of the softening bed, providing more consistent and softer water at a lower cost.
